In November 2011, the UNESCO General Conferenceproclaimed  30 April as "International Jazz Day". The Day is intended to raise awareness in the international community of the virtues of jazz as an educational tool, and a force for peace, unity, dialogue and enhanced cooperation among people. Many governments, civil society organizations, educational institutions, and private citizens currently engaged in the promotion of jazz music will embrace the opportunity to foster greater appreciation not only for the music but also for the contribution it can make to building more inclusive societies.

K A V K A Z  J A Z Z

“Kavkaz Jazz ” is a non-commercial youth jazz festival, in which young musicians from different countries (Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan) take part. “Kavkaz Jazz” is a unique project and it differs from other jazz festivals by being also educational.
First “Kavkaz Jazz” festival was held by support of US embassies in Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan in 2010. The festival got rave reviews from public and media.
 The Mission of the festival is to encourage exchanges of experience between jazz
musicians from Caucasus region and to give the jazz audience the opportunity to listen to
new jazz talent of Caucasus.
